A senior couple on Ambedkar Nagar’s Pillayar Kovil Street are running a snacks stall. This is in Thiruvottiyur, Chennai - 19

The unique feature here is that you can buy a vada or a bajji for one rupee.

This stall has been here for over 10 years.


 The couple say they run this business to earn for themselves.

  The kumbhabhishekam of Kottur Prasana Venkatesh Perumal Temple is going to be held on January 2024. It will be on for three days. The temple staff say that this temple is over 1000 years old. They said that this place called Kottur was once called as Kottu idai konda ooru. During the repair work in the temple, people can come and worship the god in balalayam.   The chief executive of the temple is Narayani.
