Amma Unavagam serves daily wagers, students and residents of Periyar Nagar

 



The Amma Unavagam in Periyar Nagar,  has been here for over 10 years.

The team has won an award for Best Amma Unavagam in Thiruvottiyur zone. 


This Unavagam makes breakfast, lunch and dinner for cheap prices and is meant for poor people. It is run by Chennai Corporation.


Daily wage earners, casual workers and migrant labourers use this Unavagam. 

Also, residents of this area, even school students eat here. 


Women manage this Unavagam who ch is on Thiruvottiyur High Rd, Periyar Nagar.  S. Janakin is now in charge here.

Kumbhabhishekam of Kottur temple in January 2024.

  The kumbhabhishekam of Kottur Prasana Venkatesh Perumal Temple is going to be held on January 2024. It will be on for three days. The temple staff say that this temple is over 1000 years old. They said that this place called Kottur was once called as Kottu idai konda ooru. During the repair work in the temple, people can come and worship the god in balalayam.   The chief executive of the temple is Narayani.
