GCC gym in Kottur managed by residents

 




The gymnasium at Kottur’s Chennai Corporation playground on Lake View Road is being managed by residents of this area so that it functions well.

This team consists of Balaji V., Narasimhan R., Venkatesh, Ravi. V. and Balaji R.


This gym was started in 2010.


The team donates money to buy additional gym equipment like dumbbells, Ab rollers, multifunctional power racks and squat racks. 


The gym is open to all.

Timings - from 5 to 8:30 a.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.

This centre in Kannagi Nagar offers 'skills' courses for women. Free.

  Muthal Thalaimurai Learning Center is in Kannagi Nagar, Okkiyam Thuraipakkam.   It was opened by V. Iraianbu, chief secretary of Tamil Nadu.   It has been opened for the sake of women's empowerment.  Here, driving classes, beauty-care training and sari embroidery classes are held. There are no fees.   Students are from the age of 18 to 37 years can sign up.   The classes are held in the morning shift and in the evening shift. 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 1.30 to 5.30 p.m. - Monday to Saturday.  Physically disabled students can also register here.   - By Sneha E.
