Rush to buy school shoes on eve of schools re-opening


School shoes are in demand at 'Sports Store' located on Kilpauk Garden Road in Davidpuram, Kilpauk. 

This shop is owned by Vincent Babu. 

Vincent says that lately, there is a rush to buy these shoes because schools are re-opening soon.

He says prices of school shoes have risen this year.

At this shop, you can get school shoes for students studying at Don Bosco and Madras Christian College Higher Secondary School. 

Sports Store also sells sports shoes.

Kumbhabhishekam of Kottur temple in January 2024.

  The kumbhabhishekam of Kottur Prasana Venkatesh Perumal Temple is going to be held on January 2024. It will be on for three days. The temple staff say that this temple is over 1000 years old. They said that this place called Kottur was once called as Kottu idai konda ooru. During the repair work in the temple, people can come and worship the god in balalayam.   The chief executive of the temple is Narayani.
