Short spell of rain in Teynampet

 


It rained in Teynampet on Tuesday evening for 45 minutes.


The food stall staff at Balaji Hotel in Elango Street had to shift their things inside the hotel as the rain came hard. Men working in the open at Jayalakshmi Turning Works here had to stop working.


In Pillaiyar Kovil Street, there are many potholes and so water stagnates.

This centre in Kannagi Nagar offers 'skills' courses for women. Free.

  Muthal Thalaimurai Learning Center is in Kannagi Nagar, Okkiyam Thuraipakkam.   It was opened by V. Iraianbu, chief secretary of Tamil Nadu.   It has been opened for the sake of women's empowerment.  Here, driving classes, beauty-care training and sari embroidery classes are held. There are no fees.   Students are from the age of 18 to 37 years can sign up.   The classes are held in the morning shift and in the evening shift. 9.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and 1.30 to 5.30 p.m. - Monday to Saturday.  Physically disabled students can also register here.   - By Sneha E.
