Silambam, karate classes in Thuraipakkam

 


S. Prabhakaran is a karate and silambam master and he trains people in Thuraipakkam.


He said he started to teach the skills to students in 2014 and has been conducting classes here. 


Children in the six to 15 years age group can join.


He says many of his students have won awards at silambam and karate contests. Some of the winners are G.Mukesh, K. Harichandran, P. Pradeepa and five-year-old C. Saimithra.

Kumbhabhishekam of Kottur temple in January 2024.

  The kumbhabhishekam of Kottur Prasana Venkatesh Perumal Temple is going to be held on January 2024. It will be on for three days. The temple staff say that this temple is over 1000 years old. They said that this place called Kottur was once called as Kottu idai konda ooru. During the repair work in the temple, people can come and worship the god in balalayam.   The chief executive of the temple is Narayani.
