SWD work on in some areas of Thiruvottiyur.

 Construction of storm water drains is underway in Kalyani Chetty Nagar and surrounding residential areas of Thiruvottiyur.

 

Since some people have encroached on the road here, the work is slowing down.


Thiruvottiyur GCC zonal officer Naganeethan, executive engineer Hussaine and Assistant Engineer Kothandaraman led the team to remove the encroachments under police protection.

Heavy rain in Kilpauk zone on Tuesday evening

  There was heavy rain in Kilpauk area of Chennai on Tuesday evening.  There was rolls of thunder too. Motorists left their bikes on roadside and rushed to take shelter at bus stands and inside shops.   The roadside petty shops on the platform had to close.   Rainwater stagnation was seen in Thambuswamy Road.  There were some traffic jams, especially on Purasaiwakkam High Road as the rain slowed down motoring.   - By Blessy V. Big demand for school bags at this Triplicane store

  There is a sudden demand for school bags at New Golden Bags and Trollys shop on Triplicane High Road.   The owner of the store, Khaja Mohideen says the sales are picked up recently because of school’s reopening.   Brands like Skybag, Adidas, Wildcraft, American Tourister are sold at this shop. The original price of such bags is Rs.680 but they are sold at Rs.550 at this store. Most sals take place in the evening time because it is hot during the daytime, says Khaja.
