Work on subway at rail level-crossing in Tiruvottriyur slow

 



There is a railway level crossing at Annamalai Nagar - this is level-crossing 4 and it is a busy crossing. A subway has been planned here.

 Railways has to complete the land acquisition first. It will take around a year to complete the work after land acquisition, said a local staff of railways.


Street vendors of Tiruvottriyur, whose shops were removed for the construction of subway, have petitioned Greater Chennai Corporation seeking alternative location for their businesses.


The proposal had been kept pending for a long time since other work, including Maattu Mandhai, was in progress.

Kumbhabhishekam of Kottur temple in January 2024.

  The kumbhabhishekam of Kottur Prasana Venkatesh Perumal Temple is going to be held on January 2024. It will be on for three days. The temple staff say that this temple is over 1000 years old. They said that this place called Kottur was once called as Kottu idai konda ooru. During the repair work in the temple, people can come and worship the god in balalayam.   The chief executive of the temple is Narayani.
